Congratulations to the
recipients of the 2008 BSSA Field Research Grants!
The Biology Society
of South Australia (BSSA) sponsors an award program to support field
research conducted in South Australia relating to the conservation of
SA flora or fauna. Honours and postgraduate students are encouraged to
apply. NRMjobs has generously
made a donation to our grant fund. The maximum award for any proposal
recommended by our review panel will be $2,000. BSSA may award
multiple grants in one year for less than or equal to $2,000.
This year BSSA
awarded $2000 each to Jasmin Packer, PhD student, Environmental
Biology, University of Adelaide, "Assessing Food Resources for the
Southern Brown Bandicoot (Isoodon
obesulus obesulus) in blackberry (Rubus sp.) and native vegetation of
varying densities" and Lana Roediger, PhD student, Flinders University,
"Population dynamics and reproductive ecology of South Australia's
viviparous sea star Parvulastra
