This is the entry point to Levidi(from Tripoli) and is refered to as the Proskinitari. The Priskinitari is the small stoned structure in the distance. It is built there for people to worship instead of going up the steep hill (across from it) where the church called Analipsi is found on the summit.Another fantastic view of Levidi and the surrounding countryside and 360 degree view of all the mountains
Behind the fenced area there is a small kiosk. This area is filled with a mini forrest which has barbeque areas, playgroungs for children and plenty of seating for large gatherings.
Levidi has a tri-yearly reunion with the Levidiotes from abroad with some of the events held here. These REUNIONS or in Greek ANTAMOMA are very emotional and extremely well organised, and they go for four days of festivities followed by another three days of Panigiri festivities.Levidi is truely alive even the inhabitants from the nearby towns and villages join in.The Levidiotes living in Athens make sure they are here.Wreaths are layed the many representatives from cities abroad make speaches and try to help Levidi in many ways.
