Common Blackbird -Turdus merula

Resident in small numbers. Introduced. Male is black with bright yellow bill and eye-ring, female is duller grey-brown with yellow-brown bill, throat dull-white with darker streaking. Juvenile is brownish with some mottling. Often feed on ground, flicking through leaf litter.

Voice: pleasant, mellow song; 'pink-pink' call; high-pitched 'tseer'; harsh alarm call.
