I would like to thank the following people who made my stay in Japan very comfortable: Andrew Emiko and her family Kiddo Kyoko Machiko Mayako and her family Miwa and Akiko Toshie Yoshihiro Yoshiyuki Places visited: Arashiyama Ashikaga Fuji-san Hashimoto Himeiji Hiroshima Koya-san Kyoto Matsumoto Miya-Jima Nagoya Nara Oyama Sakamoto Tokyo Utsonomia I spent three weeks travelling throughout Japan. I lived in the bustling metropolis of Tokyo and in the serenity of a Buddhist monastery in Koya-San. Shared the joy of friends in Ashikaga and the horror of war in Hiroshima. I ate curries, sushi and grasshoppers! Japan was full of many wonderful surprises. A melting pot of culture, technology, history and food. That's what made this holiday so unforgettable. |
