I would like to thank the following people who made my stay in Vietnam very memorable. I met up with existing friends and made some new friends along the way:
Diep
Dung
Mason and Luka
Max
Minh and friends
Ron and Margaret
Son
Tin
Xuan

Places visited:
Ben Hai river
Da Nang
Dong Ha
Halong bay and Cat Ba island
Halong city
Hanoi
Ho Chi Minh City (former Saigon)
Hoi An
Hue
Khe San
Marble mountain
My Son
Vinh Moc tunnels

I spent two weeks travelling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and breathed the lively atmosphere of the cities while enjoying the wide-open spaces the countryside had to offer. I ate duck blood and dog meat.

I was upset by the turbulent history that this beautiful country has had to struggle with, yet amazed at the generosity of the people. Land mines and teratogenic chemicals unfortunately remain despite the American war ending over 25 years ago.

I have so many extraordinary memories of Vietnam. The Chinese, French, Americans and the Japanese have influenced this country. I visited the infamous demilitarised zone in central Vietnam and met people whom had their limbs blown apart by landmines. I swam in the warm waters of Halong Bay and drove through peak hour traffic on the back of a motor bike.

I had the time of my life.
